REMOVABLE ROOM
Removable Room is a mobile artlab series in which projects are activated on location over a defined time frame. For some of the projects we have been able to explore presentation in nontraditional and disused spaces— a shopping centre concourse, a loading dock, a greenhouse— and wherever possible the final performance is broadcast to the net.
TONE DEAF FEST : KINGSTON : OCTOBER 9—15, 2006
Removable Room: Kingston was a one-week project hosted at Modern Fuel Gallery as part of the Tone Deaf 5 festival. We found objects along the waterfront in Kingston and used them as sound and image sources for transformation.
The constructed room took the form of a suspended cubic form made of industrial plastic. We worked in open-studio sessions and gave a performance on October 14 that was streamed to the net.
