performance 1 The performance component took place in the theatre of the GPRC. Video was projected on two portable screens flanking the performance area, audio speakers in a quad configuration surrounding the audience. Video and audio source material was gathered while walking in Grande Prairie. Audio recordings of bird sounds were made beside the reservoir close to the college, and video close-ups were shot of small objects collected during our walks. Samples of the bird sounds were manipulated in performance using a modified version of the installation MAX program, with manual control over all parameters and overall timing replacing the self-generating activity of the installation program.
